Here is a second picture from the group that my wife has drawn. I like the idea of my daughter having a dragon protector as a familiar. Would be especially handy for when she gets to the dating age many, many years from now.

My wife is a wonderful artist and she drew a couple of pictures that I want to share. These are of my daughter and a dragon. My wife drew this picture in about twenty minutes using just a pencil and sketch pad, then we scanned it in. Hopefully, we can add some color to this later. Let me know what you think of my wife’s art!

Risus Character Compendium – Richard Castle

I’ve often used other sites character’s when I need some good NPC’s at times, instead of making up my own. Plus, I often like to see the characters that other people come up with. Since I like character compendium’s so much, I thought I would continue to add to my own using either actual NPC’s that I have or famous characters or people.
With that, I give you the Risus version of Richard Castle from ABC’s series Castle:

Backstory
Richard Castle is a well-connected and wealthy best-selling mystery novelist. He has friends in high places in New York and through these friends are able to ghost with an NYPD Detective Kate Beckett in order to do research for his new mystery novels. He actually ends up being useful during investigations due to his inquisitive mind and being able to see how things might fit together in a unique way that the others do not.

DRYH Character

I’m playing in a Don’t Rest Your Head game that John is running tonight so I had to create a character. I have never played DRYH before, so it should prove to be an interesting experience that I am really looking forward to the game.
Here is the character that I came up with:
My Name Is . . . James Scott
And I Am . . . A disgraced, unemployed risk consultant
What’s been keeping you awake?
He stays up late at night watching the news and trying to figure out why the things happen that the news reports. How could that car of flipped like that? Why did the bridge collapse?
What just happened to you?
At Disney world, he is inspecting a ride. He hasn’t had much sleep but little sleep doesn’t bother him anymore. He inspects a ride and gives it a thumbs up as safe to operate and takes the customary first ride. As he is riding, he believes he sees something like little animals, maybe rats or raccoons or something at one spot. When he tells the people, they say that they will check, but it is very unlikely and when they do, nothing is found. He shakes it off as little sleep and a long day, but can’t get the shinning eyes out of his head.
He is walking away from the ride and stops at one of the shops and asks the guy if they have any coffee in back, which the they get him. As he is drinking the coffee and watching the ride, once the car hits the spot he saw the “animals” the railing breaks and falls, taking the cars with it and crashing into a horrible tangle of steel and flesh.
Needless to say, he loses his job and cannot sleep a wink since.
What’s on the surface?
He is a about 5’11″ and lanky with short blond hair and light gray eyes. He is clean cut and is always found wearing a nice, fairly expensive suit. He drives an old 1963 Chevy C-10 pick-up, because he knows the risk of the newer small cars.
What lies beneath?
Loneliness and a desperate need to find the truth. There is also fear.
What’s your path?
What caused the car to fall? I know the it wasn’t the steel like they are saying, I inspected every inch. I have to find the answer. What did I see? If it wasn’t animals…could whatever I have seen caused the steel to fail? Are gremlin-like things real? I have to know.
